SGTB will have no inherent rights to future IP, such as reach-through rights in inventions made by investigators using specimens obtained from the biorepository.
Participants agree to avoid conflicts of interest in the selection and execution of research projects. They are expected to inform each other of any involvement in major commercial activities. Conflict of interest is defined as:
1. Any financial interest or arrangement with a company whose product is involved in or would be affected by an approved study.
2. Any financial interest or arrangement with a competing company.
3. Any other financial connections, direct or indirect, or other situations that might raise the question of bias in the conduct or reporting of a study, including pertinent funding of a Center, a parent institution, personal relationships, or direct academic competition.
Participants are not required to reveal confidential or proprietary information, but are expected to indicate when they may be in conflict of interest.
